The Supreme Court of India has granted interim protection from arrest to actor Shreyas Talpade in connection with a multi-crore cheating and breach of trust case involving a Haryana-based cooperative society.
On July 21, 2025, the Supreme Court issued an interim order granting protection from arrest to actor Shreyas Talpade in a case filed against him and others for allegedly promoting a fraudulent investment scheme operated by the Human Welfare Credit Cooperative Society Ltd. The society reportedly lured investors with promises of high returns, leading to significant financial losses. Talpade, along with fellow actor Alok Nath, was named as a brand ambassador in the complaint filed by a Sonipat resident. The court has issued notices to the Haryana Police and others, with further hearings scheduled for August 29, 2025.
