Appeal After Pregnant Mum & Her Children Robbed At Knifepoint

Police in Oldham are appealing for information after a heavily pregnant mother and her six-year-old daughter were threatened at knifepoint by two men during a robbery at their home.

A machete was pointed at Fatima Bibi's abdomen and her 6 year old daughter had the knife held to her throat during the attack on Friday, November 18 at 7.15pm at their home on Kew Road, Oldham.

Police have released CCTV images of the men, who escaped with a mobile phone.

Det Insp Kenny Blain, from Greater Manchester Police, said "This was an atrocious attack on an innocent family in their own home."

"The stress this would have caused [Mrs Bibi] could have potentially threatened the life of her unborn child," he added.

The first man is described as white, over 6ft tall, of heavy build and wearing a black wool balaclava, baseball cap, with the hood of his jacket up.

He was also wearing a black quilted sleeveless jacket, a dark top, black wool gloves, dark blue jeans and spike with a local accent.

The second man is white, 5ft 5in tall, aged about 25-years-old, with light eyes and an oval shaped face.

He had a short patchy ginger beard, of medium build and spoke with a local accent.

The man was wearing a black wool hat, with a red hood from his jumper pulled over, a black sleeveless coat, black gloves and brown chinos.

Information can be given to police by calling 101 or alternatively, people can pass on information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
