Appeal Following Firearms Discharge and Disorder, Bradford

Police are appealing for information following two incidents in the Wibsey area of Bradford which are believed to be connected.

The first was a report of a firearms discharge in Smith Avenue, which was received at 6.11pm on Tuesday evening and led to armed officers being deployed into the area.

Then at 6.23pm police received a report of gunshots and vehicles in collision in Holroyd Hill.

Enquiries have now established that a firearm was discharged in the Smith Avenue incident, but that no injuries or damage was reported.

Four people have been arrested in connection with the above matters and remain in custody at this time. A number of vehicles have also been recovered for further tests.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Farrell, of Bradford District Police, said:

“I am appealing to anyone who may have information about what occurred in the Wibsey area last night to come forward.

“All reports of firearms discharges and disorder are taken seriously and enquiries are underway into the circumstances of these incidents and to identify those who were involved.”

Anyone with information which may assist this investigation is asked to contact Bradford District CID on 101
