A bomb disposal team was called out to a property after a raid in Greater Manchester.
Officers from GMP’s Tameside Borough executed a warrant at an address on Newton Hall Road in Hyde on Monday, 19 June.
Officers forced entry to a residential property and carried out a search, discovering a large number of guns, ammunition and what is believed to be an explosive device.
Bomb disposal officers attended but did not carry out a controlled explosion.
Two men, aged 28 and 58, who were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm have been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
