Bradford College is set to play host to the regional heats of a prestigious competition for IT students.
On Friday 4 May the college will welcome students from across the region to take part in the Yorkshire heats of the computing categories of the WorldSkills UK competition.
Further and Higher Education students will compete in four categories testing their skills in software solutions for business, technical support, network infrastructure and network systems administration.
The college will have 12 of its own students taking part along with students from across the county. The Bradford College students will be looking to follow in the footsteps of Sam Hudson who placed third in last year’s contest staged in London. Sam’s bronze award was in the Network Administrator category.
Khalid Ahmed, of Bradford College’s computing department, said: “We look forward to showcasing the excellent skills our level 3 students have developed during the two years of their Networking and Systems Support and Software Development courses. We are keen to build on the success of last year’s competition and we are excited to be hosting the Yorkshire Heats of the World Skills Competition which will allow us to showcase the excellent facilities we have at the College.”
