Local elections will take place across the country on Thursday 2 May and residents of Bradford district are being encouraged to make sure to use their vote.
Bradford Council says local government elections are your chance to select councillors, who are responsible for making decisions on running services in your local area. These include vital services such as education, transport, planning, parks, leisure, public safety, social care and waste management.
Polling stations will open from 7.00am on Thursday 2 May and close at 10.00pm.
Joanne Hyde, Strategic Director for Corporate Resources at Bradford Council, said: “It is vital that you have your say on the issues that affect your everyday life at a local level. Voting is the most powerful way we can be sure that our voices are heard.
“We want to make sure that everyone who has a right to vote is able to. Remember, if you need any assistance at the polling station – just ask. Each polling station is staffed with people who can help answer any questions you may have on the voting process and also provide assistance as required.”
