A 29 year old woman from Bradford, who thought her partner was cheating on her has been jailed for attacking him with a knife.
Fatima Fardous, of Hendford Drive- Pollard Park, Bradford, lunged at her partner with a kitchen knife during an argument, but he managed to move quickly enough to avoid a fatal blow to his chest. Fardous harassed her husband Mirza Raza with abusive phone calls while he was out at work and when he returned to their home he discovered that she had smashed a mirror and broken other household items.
Prosecutor Nick Adlington told Bradford Crown Court that Fardous, who had no previous convictions, became convinced that Mr Raza was seeing someone else and attempted to stab Mr Raza in the chest but missed leaving him with a wound to his upper left arm. Mr Raza fled the house as Fardous threatened to get another knife.
Fardous had denied a charge of causing grievous bodily harm with intent but a jury found her guilty and she was sentenced to four and a half years imprisonment.
