Bradford Council’s Executive Committee will be asked to endorse the District’s Cycle Strategy which has been updated, when it meets next week.
The Strategy has the aim of “making Bradford district a place where cycling is naturally part of everyone’s daily life” and various updates have been made in an attempt to make it even more accessible for people to do this.
The Tour de France Grand Depart came through the district in 2014 as well as the Tour de Yorkshire in 2015 and Bradford was the start for stage 3 of the Tour de Yorkshire in 2017.
The Cyclo-Cross National Championships were hosted by the Council in Peel Park and the delivery of the CityConnect programme. In addition, next year Ilkley will play a large part in the Tour de Yorkshire 2018 either as a start or finish point.
The Strategy covers the full range of ways that people can get involved in cycling from sports and club related participation and cycling as a leisure activity to cycling as a mode of transport for getting to work and school.
