The Government has announced a cut off of date of 16 February for people to tell their local authority that they were affected by the flooding caused by Storm Eva on Boxing Day.
Latest figures show that almost 670 homes and around 170 businesses have notified Bradford Council they were affected by the flooding at Christmas.
Bradford Council is in the process of assessing applications for Flood Recovery Grants, Council Tax discounts and Business Rate discounts and Flood Resilience Grants for those residents and businesses who have contacted them.
Flood Recovery Grants of £500 have been paid out to 626 households affected, totalling £313,000.
Council Tax discounts of around £150,000 have also been paid to help those in the Bradford district who have had to move out of their homes due to the flooding.
Flood Resilience Grants of up to £5,000 are available to help victims to install measures to prevent further flooding or minimise the damage cause by future flooding in their properties.
The Bradford Council is also helping businesses to recover from the flooding. They have so far paid out almost £70,000 in Business Recovery Grants of up to £2,500 to 34 businesses and provided Business Rate discounts of around £563,000 to help companies affected.
Businesses can also apply for between £5,000 and £100,000 of West Yorkshire Combined Authority funding to help their business to recover.
Coun Val Slater, Deputy Leader of Bradford Council, said "We want to make sure that people are aware of the cut off date for telling us if their home or business was affected by the flooding. We are concerned that some people may not have contacted us to find out what help is available.”
"People can apply for the Flood Resilience Grant up until the deadline of 31 March, but they need to have contacted us to let us know by 16 February that they were affected by the floods.”
