Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Skelmanthorpe yesterday, 3 May.
Emergency services were called at around 5.15pm to Ponker Lane to the collision, which involved a yellow Suzuki GSXR motorbike.
The motorbike had been travelling in the direction of Shelly Woodhouse Lane before it crossed onto the opposite side of the carriageway and collided with a tree.
The rider, a man in his 20s, was treated by paramedics at the scene, but was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
Police are asking for anyone who may have seen the motorbike prior to the collision to come forward. They are specifically looking for a person who was driving a small green hatchback car in the area, possibly a Micra, to get in touch as they may have valuable information.
