The nervous wait for students across the country is over as their A-level results are finally in.
This year’s cohort is the first of the new format for A-levels, with final assessments only taking place at the end of the second year. Previously pupils were assessed on a module-by-module basis over the two years.
Some students have complained that because of the new system there was not sufficient past papers to revise from.
The number of students scoring A* to C grade in maths and English examinations at Bradford College has increased by more than 6% on last year.
In physics and English literature the pass rate was 100%.
The perfect physics score comes just a month after it was awarded STEM Assured status in recognition of how well it delivers education in science, technology, engineering and maths.
The English Literature pass rate also exceeds the national average, bettering it by 1.3%.
The college also marked an uplift in the number of AS Level students achieving A* to C grades.
Another 100% pass rate was celebrated by English language students at AS Level and in AS Level Film Studies, every student who passed did so with an A* to C grade.
Bradford College Principal David Harwood said: “Our students have just completed the first exams of the new A Level structure and have achieved some great results.
“I am proud to say that this is testament to the hard work of both students and staff and highlights their commitment to studying.”
