Detectives investigating a shooting in Swinton have made further arrests.
On Monday 21 May a 37-year-old man was arrested by Nottinghamshire Police, on behalf of Greater Manchester Police, on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
He was also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm.
A 39-year-old man from the Salford area was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence and conspiracy to commit GBH.
It follows an ongoing investigation into the shooting of a 30-year-old man in a car park on East Lancashire Road on 4 February.
At the time the man was taken to hospital with a serious gunshot wound to the leg. He has since been discharged and continues to recover.
Four people had previously been arrested, with a man and a woman charged in connection with the shooting.
Detective Inspector Dave Turner, from GMP’s Salford borough, said: “As part of this operation we have been carrying out extensive work and have made several arrests so far.
“This investigation does not stop here and we will do everything we can to find those responsible for this shooting and bring them to justice.”
