A further teenager has been arrested after a stabbing outside a restaurant in Bury.
Shortly before 9.55pm on Saturday 30 March, police were called to eastZeast restaurant on Bury New Road to a disturbance involving a dispute between a group of youths.
Emergency services attended and a 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he remains for treatment.
On Wednesday 3 April, a 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and section 18 assault.
This is the fifth arrest made in connection with the investigation. Two teenagers remain on bail, one has been released under investigation and a 16-year-old boy has been released with no further action.
Chief Inspector Jamie Collins of GMP’s Bury District, said: “I need to stress that despite making a number of arrests, our enquiries are very much ongoing and we need people who haven’t yet got in contact with us to do so.
“While the boy has serious injuries and is still in hospital receiving treatment for those injuries, it’s not thought that his condition is life threatening.
“Saying this, we cannot underestimate the severity of the situation and the effect this has had not only on him but his family and the community.
“We will continue to follow each line of enquiry that’s available to us but can only do so with your help so please, contact our dedicated investigation team with any information that you have.”
