A residential street in Leeds was evacuated after a “suspicious item” was discovered.

Police were raiding a property in the Harehills area of the city in connection with drugs offences yesterday morning, 5 October, when the item was found.

Neighbouring properties on Elford Place West were forced to evacuate as a cordon was put in place and a specialist army team attended to investigate the item.

Two men were arrested at the address on suspicion of drugs offences.
