Labour has strengthened its hold on Bradford council with the party gaining three seats at this year’s council elections
The Liberal Democrats gained a seat whilst the Conservatives lost two and two Independents also lost their seats.
Labour gained the city ward seat from an independent whilst Liberal Democrats held their Bolton and Undercliffe seat with former MP David Ward now back on Bradford Council
Labour now has 49 seats on Bradford council with 21 Conservatives, ten Liberal Democrat, six Independents, three Green and one UKIP councillor.

As a result of the local elections in Leeds on May 5 2016, the make-up of the city council is as follows:
Overall political composition:
Labour [LAB]: 63 seats (no change)
Conservative [CON]: 19 seats (no change)
Lib Dem [LD]: 9 seats (no change)
Morley Borough Independents [MBI]: 5 seats (no change)
Green: (GR) 3 seats (no change)
Labour maintained control of Wakefield .
They took 19 of the 21 contested seats in Wakefield, Conservative won the other two with a gain of one.
Wakefield's election leaves Labour with 53 seats, Conservatives on seven, UKIP with two and one Independent.
Labour took 11 of the 23 seats being contested in Kirklees but is still one short of a majority after the conservatives made some gains

In Calderdale Labour lost one seat to the Conservatives but remain the largest party
