Police have arrested two men in connection with an incident in which a man was seriously injured when his vehicle was stolen in Bradford.
At about 4.16am on Tuesday (12th April), police were called to an address in Felcourt Drive to a report of a man in his fifties with serious injuries whose black Mitsubishi L200 Animal pick up vehicle had been taken from outside his home.
Armed police were deployed to look for the vehicle, but did not locate it.
The victim suffered serious chest, leg and back injuries and is currently in a stable condition in hospital.
The vehicle was found six hours after the incident, abandoned in Bell House Avenue Bierley and Police have now arrested two men believed to be from the Holmewood area, both aged 18. One has since been released without charge and the other released on Police bail pending further inquiries
Detective Inspector Andy Howard, of Bradford District CID, said:
"Our initial enquiries suggest that the victim has been struck by his own vehicle as he has attempted to stop the thieves from driving away.
"This is a distinctive vehicle which has a chrome bar on the front and I would ask for anyone who may have seen this vehicle in the hours after the incident to contact Bradford District CID on 101, quoting log *119 of 12 April, or to report anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
