
A jury heard at Bradford Crown Court on Wednesday how a man was shot at point-blank range and struck with a machete in a revenge attack in broad daylight on a Bradford housing estate.
The incident occurred in Grayswood Crescent, Holme Wood, shortly before 11.30am on Sunday, April 14.
The victim of the attack, 36-year-old Mark Lee, sustained gunshot wounds, 15 centimetres across, to his left thigh, as well as lacerations to his right arm and shoulder.
The accused attackers, Nicholas Beck, 30, of Dawnay Road, Little Horton, Bradford, and John Wilkinson, 28, of Sage Street, also in Little Horton pleaded not guilty to wounding Mr Lee with intent to do him grievous bodily harm
The court heard the night before the attack, Mr Lee went to an address in Dawnay Road and damaged a car with a blunt object.
Addressing the court, the prosecution, Nicolas Campbell, explained how Mr Lee’s attackers allegedly demanded “ten grand” from him.
Following the attack, Beck was apprehended in Blackpool on April 16, while Wilkinson was arrested by armed officers at his address in the early hours of April 17.the
