A Greater Manchester man who targeted lone women and forced them into secluded areas has been jailed.
Dominic Hill, 32-years-old and of North Reddish, pleaded guilty to two counts of kidnapping at an earlier hearing.
He was sentenced yesterday (5 April 2017) to life in prison with a minimum term of six years and ordered to sign the sex offender’s register for life, at Manchester Crown Court.
Shortly after 7am on 6 February 2016, Hill approached a 22-year-old woman who was waiting alone at a bus stop on Reddish Road in Stockport. He told her to “get up” and grabbed her by the arm and dragged her to her feet. He pushed her down the side of some nearby public toilets and a struggle ensued, during which the woman managed to kick out at Hill, who then fled. The woman then reported it to police.
On the morning of Tuesday 23 February 2016, Hill followed a 24-year-old woman who was walking to a bus stop. He approached her and placed one hand over her mouth and one round her waist. The woman tried to get free, but Hill picked her up and carried her to a nearby driveway and pinned her to the floor. The woman managed to kick free and Hill fled.
Detective Constable James Grundy of GMP’s Stockport Borough said: “Hill is a sexual predator who forced women into secluded areas and instilled fear into them. Help and support will always be there for people who want to come forward and report sexual offences or speak to someone about concerns they may have. Thankfully Hill is now behind bars where he can’t target any more women.”
