A homeless man in Manchester saved a Queensbury couple’s birthday celebrations with a selfless act.
Akbar Badshah, from Queensbury, was treating his wife to a birthday meal at an upmarket Manchester restaurant, whilst also breaking his fast during Ramadan.
However, he was turned away at the door for wearing open-toed shoes.
He approached a homeless man, named John, who had just been given a new pair of shoes from an outreach programme.
Mr Badshah offered John money to borrow the shoes for the meal but he refused taking any cash for the gesture.
Allegedly, after overhearing the conversation, a passer-by handed John a £50 note.
