A 58-year-old man who for five years harassed his neighbour throwing carpet tacks and slug pellets over the fence into her garden despite an harassment warning and another neighbour challenging his behaviour has been given a suspended prison sentence.
Bradford and Keighley Magistrates Court heard that Gul Fraz Majeed, of Charteris Road, Lower Grange, Bradford, who had claimed he was too ill and physically incapable of the charges against him denied subjecting neighbour Shakeela Danish to harassment without violence.
Majeed was sentenced to eight weeks imprisonment, suspended for one year; was fined £210, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115 and compensation to Mrs Danish of £275.
He was also given an indefinite restraining order that he make no contact, directly or indirectly with Mrs Danish or her family, must not enter her grounds or garden and must not use a mobile phone or camera to take photographs of her, her family or property.
