More than 8,000 crashes took place in a 12-month period in Bradford.

A Freedom of Information request made to West Yorkshire Police by The Telegraph and Argus revealed there were 8,317 shunts between August 2017 and August 2018 – with the city averaging 22 each day.

10 incidents resulted in a loss of life.

Bradford is the most expensive place outside of London for car insurance and being in a crash, even whilst not at fault, sees premiums rise.

West Yorkshire Police introduced Operation Steerside in 2016 in a bid to tackle dangerous driving.
