Schools in Bradford are being encouraged to get behind a campaign addressing ‘period poverty’.
The Red Box Project, which started in Portsmouth and is now being introduced in Bradford, sees sanitary products supplied by the community and businesses to keep stocks in schools.
The aim is to reduce the number of students missing out on education because they can’t afford new supplies themselves.
The project leader in Bradford said they would eventually like to see those getting free school meals having access to free sanitary products.
