A husband who subjected his wife to a range of abuse and assaults has been jailed for 26 weeks.
At Kirklees Magistrates Jabran Khan of Broomer Street, Ravensthorpe was found guilty of five charges of assault after the court had heard that his wife Sanam Parvez had been subjected to horrendous violent attacks including being threatened with a knife, kicked and punched in the head and had a laptop lead wrapped around her neck choking her.
The Judge also granted the wife a restraining order which means her husband is forbidden from contacting her indefinately and he must also pay her £1,000 in compensation.
