
Wakefield Police are appealing for information following a series of night time attacks on cars in South Elmsall and South Kirkby.
The South East Neighbourhood Policing Teams has increased patrols and is now investigating following total of 19 offences in the area which took place overnight between Sunday June 5 and Monday June 6.
In all of the offences vehicles were tampered with by suspects who smashed side windows. Some of the attacked cars also suffered damage from rolling into street furniture after their handbrakes were let off.
The offences took place between 10.30pm on June 5 and 8am on June 6 on streets including:
High Street, South Elmsall
Oak Street, South Elmsall
Chestnut Walk, South Elmsall
Northcroft Ave, South Elmsall
Wesley Street, South Elmsall
Kirkby Close, South Elmsall
Regent Srteet, South Elmsall
Acacia Avenue, South Elmsall
Westfield Lane, South Elmsall
Ings Walk, South Kirkby
Kings Croft, South Kirkby
Barnsley Road, South Kirkby
Sergeant Sarah Degnan of the South East Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "We are investigating these offences and are appealing for witnesses and information.
"We have increased patrols in the area and will be investigating possible links between them to maximise our chances of finding those responsible.
"These offences are very unusual for this area and officers fully appreciate the distress these attacks have caused in South Kirkby and South Elmsall. We will be conducting a number of enquiries including checking sources of potential CCTV.
