Police are appealing for information after the theft of a high-value watch from a jewellery shop in Trafford.
At 7.15pm on Thursday May 5 2016, two men entered the Goldsmiths, at Intu Trafford Centre, posing as potential customers.
The pair asked staff to look at a £23,000 Rolex and sat down in the customer services and waited for a member of staff to get the watch from the display case.
One of the offenders tried the watch on and the other walked towards the door before both fled, pushing a member of staff to the floor on the way out.
The pair ran through the food hall and into the car park to a waiting silver BMW, changed their clothes and fled the scene. The vehicle was later found abandoned.
One man is described as being of middle eastern origin, aged 25 to 30, medium build, 5ft9in, wearing a black silk traditional dress with gold strip, black pants, black shoes with white trim with a local Asian accent.
The other man is described as being of middle eastern origin, aged 25 to 30, medium build, 5ft9in, wearing silky black traditional dress, black pants, dark sunglasses, clean shaven and short black hair.
Detective Sergeant Andy Darnton, of GMP’s Trafford division, said: “This was a brazen theft of a high value watch from a shop in a busy shopping centre.
“The manager made an attempt to stop them but was knocked over in the process and is lucky not to be hurt.
“We have released CCTV images of these two men and we are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time who may have seen these two men to come forward.”
