Police are investigating following a firearms discharge at a property in Halifax last night (Tuesday, 23 February).
Officers were called to an address in Parkinson Lane shortly before 11pm following a report that shots had been fired earlier, causing damage to a window. A silver vehicle, reported to be a Vauxhall Astra, was seen driving away from the scene.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Swift, of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: "We are conducting extensive enquiries to establish the motive for this offence and identify those responsible. Thankfully no-one was hurt but any discharge of a firearm is a serious matter and we have put measures in place to safeguard the occupants of the property.
"I understand that the nature of this incident may cause some concern in the wider community and would stress that this appears to be an isolated offence We will have extra officers in the area to offer reassurance to local residents and would urge anyone with concerns to speak to them.
"We are keen to hear from anyone who has either witnessed the events in Parkinson Lane or who saw a silver Vauxhall Astra in the vicinity of this offence or in Queensbury, where a car was found burnt out shortly before 10.15pm.
"Anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team via 101 or independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
