A Glasgow mosque has been targeted by vandals.
Members of the public spotted graffiti on the wall of the Central Mosque in the Gorbals area yesterday morning, 23 May.
A picture was circulated online of the vandalism, which shows a love heart with the word “ISIS” inside.
Some members of the public believed the graffiti was in response to the terror attack in Manchester on Monday night, 22 May.
However the police say the graffiti appeared over the weekend, prior to the attack.
Glasgow City Council's environmental task force visited the site yesterday and removed the vandalism.
A police spokesperson said: "We can confirm that this incident was reported to police on Saturday 20 May 2017, and police enquiries are on-going."
