Reports have emerged today that Police in Pakistan now believe Samia Shahid, a 28-year-old Bradford woman - an alleged victim of a so-called honour killing - was killed by suffocation, having been physically stopped from breathing.
In Pakistan there are reports that this was due to strangulation. No arrests have been made so far in the murder investigation which was prompted by concerns from her second husband Syed Mukhtar Kazam and local MP Naz Shah that Samia was the victim of a so-called honour killing. It has been claimed that her family strongly disapproved of her second marriage and threats had been issued, her family deny any wrongdoing.
Police in Pakistan have been questioning her father, who denies any wrongdoing and wish to speak to her first husband Choudhry Shakeel, who has gone missing.
