A six-foot snake was discovered slithering through the woods of Yorkshire.
The boa constrictor – one of the largest types of snakes in the world – was spotted by motorists close to Scarborough.
The snake is non-poisonous but kills its prey by coiling itself around the helpless victim and squeezing. Fortunately, no such attack was made by the snake when emergency services successfully caught the giant reptile and took it to a place of safety.
It is believed it was a domestic pet and may have either escaped or been set free
