You may be forgiven for thinking the earth moved yesterday, 16 May, as an earthquake was registered in Yorkshire.
The quake began at 4.30am but would not have shaken anyone out of bed – it registered at a trifling 1.9 magnitude on the Richter scale.
The British Geological Survey says that Saxton, near Tadcaster in North Yorkshire, was the epicentre.
