Two men and a woman are on trial accused of attempted murder after a gun was fired at a house in Bradford.
Brothers, Ummar and Khuram Yaqoob, both 30, and Kiran Bi Hussain, 24, are said to have intended to kill Hamza Nazir when his living room window was shot at, at his property on Agar Street, Girlington, just after 10.30pm on March 31.
All three have denied charges of attempting to murder Mr Nazir regarding a dispute over a stolen car, as well as denying charges of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
However, the court has heard that Ummar Yaqoob admits possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
Hussain pleaded guilty to two offences of possession of a slam gun – a type of improvised firearm - and she and Ummar Yaqoob have admitted manufacturing prohibited firearms.
In a prepared statement to the police, Ummar Yaqoob categorically denied the attempted murder charges, saying: “I am not guilty of attempted murder and I had no involvement in the incident on Agar Street. I have not attempted to kill anybody.”
Following a search, members of the Organised Crime Unit found package containing two live shotgun cartridges and a threaded screw cap hidden behind an electricity box near Khuram Yaqoob’s property on Daisy Hill Lane.
The prosecution case closed on Tuesday, with the jury having heard evidence for the defence earlier today.
