Police have traced a potential witness after a woman was raped near to Deansgate Locks in Manchester.
Sometime between 3am and 4am on Tuesday 11 April 2017, a 40-year-old woman left Lola Lo’s nightclub on Deansgate Locks and got into what she believed to be a taxi.
The next thing the woman recalls was her attack, which she describes as being by water. The woman was pinned against a wall and raped before managing to run away towards Laystall Street.
Following an investigation a potential witness has now been traced and officers would like to thank the public for their help.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris Mossop from GMP's Serious Sexual Offences Unit said: "We are continuing our investigation and have now spoken to a man who may be able to help us as a potential witness. The woman was raped and subjected to a terrifying ordeal and we’re keen to speak to anyone who was in the Whitworth Street area or has CCTV or dash-cam footage from between 3 and 4am on Tuesday 11 April.”
