The infamous debate along the lines of nepotism has been an ongoing one since last year.
It all started when Kangana Ranaut talked about it on National Television during Karan Johar's chat show. It opened the floodgates of discussion with celebrities being asked for their opinion on this prevalent but less-talked-about phenomenon in Bollywood.
Annu Kapoor, who is known for his versatility and experimental roles in Hindi films, spoke to Times of India, who asked him about this highly debated topic. While most celebrities refrain from sharing their opinion about the same in the open, Kapoor, on the other hand, was unabashed and spoke his heart out.
He said, “Nothing is wrong! If a politician’s son can join politics, why not an actor’s son or a producer’s son or a producer’s daughter or a star’s daughter? Nothing is wrong with it. Kids choose their father’s profession or as parents, it is their duty towards their child to get him/her in the profession. Yes, but despite the support a father gives to his child, it all depends on the child’s luck whether they make it big in the industry or not.”
Annu Kapoor will next be seen in a psychological thriller ‘Missing’ which stars Manoj Bajpayee and Tabu in lead roles. The movie hit the theatres today.
