CONFIRMED: Aishwarya Rai and Anil Kapoor to reunite on the Big Screen After 17 Years!

Even after 17 years, Aishwarya Rai and Anil Kapoor films such as Taal (1999) and Humara Dil Aapke Paas Hai (2000), still remain fresh in people’s minds.

Their on screen pairing doesn’t really equate to fireworks, but always manages to bring about a heart-warming feeling. Fans have been long waiting to see the two back together on the big screen and looks like it’s finally happening.

Aishwarya Rai, at her recent appearance at Cannes, confirmed that she has recently begun looking at scripts saying, “I took a break for the past five months because of personal reasons. I'm glad I did. It meant a lot for me, personally, so I didn't have any professional meetings. I started last week and I have liked two subjects already.” Tracking back, now we know she was referring to Fanney Khan as one of the films she liked. If the grape wine is to be trusted, the other one might just be Anurag Kashyap’s Gulab Jamun, with hubby Abhishek Bachchan!

After what seems like a decade, the duo will be coming together in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s film, Fanney Khan. Prernaa Arora, co-producer of the film, was quoted by Mumbai Mirror saying, “We go on the floors by the year-end. It is a happy, slice-of-life film. We approached Aishwarya for the part and are glad she agreed to come on-board.”

The film, Fanney Khan is said to be a light hearted comedy musical, inspired by Dominique Deruddere's Oscar-nominated film, Everybody's Famous (2000). It is also rumoured that Aishwarya won’t be paired opposite Anil Kapoor in the film. Does that mean there might be another actor on board to star opposite the pretty Ash? We’ll only have to wait to find out!
