What comes to your mind when you hear Bigg Boss? Salman Khan, contestants, controversy and all the drama?
There is also one more thing that makes a lot of hullabaloo and it’s the moolah. Yes, at times, the channel and producers shell out insane sums of money to rope in particular contestants on the show. Last year, we read how Hina Khan was reportedly paid close to Rs 7-8 lakh a week for her stay inside the house. The actress stayed till the grand finale which roughly translates into an earning of over Rs three crores. This is taking a very basic estimate without the additional bonuses for providing good content inside the house.
If that sum seems mind-boggling, wait till you hear this! A source close to the development of the show said the makers are ready to pay Dipika Kakar double the amount per week if she comes on Bigg Boss 12. She was always on their radar but she kept on refusing it though she’s a fan of the reality show. It seems they finally made an offer which she could not refuse. They agreed to her demands and the final fee is a whopping one. This means that she’ll pocket a cool Rs 14-16 lakh per week for her stay inside the house.
The previous season was a successful one and the makers have the moolah to get big names on board. Dipika is best known as Simar from Sasural Simar Ka which ran a great run of five years on colours. She did a cameo in Qayamat Ki Raat as well. The demure actress will be seen opposite Gurmeet Chaudhary in JP Dutta’s Paltan that releases later this month. A stint in the Bigg Boss 12 house will help her break away from the image of the perfect Simar.
