"I'd never been in touch with Fawad Khan, to begin with,” says Anushka Sharma.

The actress bluntly denies having any kind of friendly relationship with Fawad Khan.

Like Raees, the movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil created quite a buzz in the media due to its Pakistani star cast. The film initially faced many issues, but in the end, the producers were able to convince MNS for its release in India. However, after all,the drama that was created, Karan Johar and the rest of the cast, began to distance themselves from Fawad Khan.

Further dragging this disassociation with Fawad Khan, Anushka Sharma recently spoke about the Pakistani actor to a leading Indian daily Pinkvillla. In the interview, she made sure everyone knew that he was nothing more than a co-star.

"I'd never been in touch with Fawad, to begin with,” Anushka clarified. “We only interacted on the set, and that's about it. So there was nothing new about it after the Indo-Pak situation happened."

She also added, "I remember when Fawad was cast, we all felt relieved because the other person (in the film) just had to be as strong. It is a cameo, with little space for Fawad's character (Ali) to reveal his feelings for Alizeh. He had to convey a lot more, merely through expressions."

The truth is, there was so much chemistry between Anushka Sharma and Fawad Khan in ADHM, that we believed the duo had some good times when the camera was turned off too. Apparently, we were wrong and things aren’t always what they seem.
