Manushi Chhillar grabbed all the headlines after she ended India’s 17 year wait for another Miss World.
The 20-year-old from Haryana won the Miss World 2017 crown a few weeks back and she has been in constant limelight since then. From her pictures to her style to her aspirations, everything has been reported on. Her answer in the final question/answer round proved she is smart. And hence, when she was given an opportunity to ask a question to Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli, we knew she would ask something extraordinary.
At the recent CNN-News18 Indian of the Year Awards 2017, Virat was crowned as the Indian of the Year for 2017. The cricketer, like Manushi, has been an inspiration for many, especially the youngsters. So Manushi asked Kohli, “You are one of the best batsman in the world today and you’ve been such an inspiration. You’ve really given back to the society. But there are a lot of young people who draw inspiration from you. How would you like to give back for children, especially in the world of cricket?” The cricketer smiled and replied, “Well, what’s very important to understand is when you do what you do and you express yourself on the field, it has to be genuine and it has to be from the heart. Otherwise if people find out that you’re trying to pretend, then they can never connect to you. I’ve never tried to be anyone else. I’ve always been myself; I always mention that people had a lot of issues with how I was, how I conducted myself, but I had never had any problems with that.”
