Actor Rajpal Yadav has been sentenced to six months imprisonment by Delhi’s Karkardooma Court in connection to a cheque bounce case against the actor.
Earlier Rajpal, his wife Radha Yadav, and their company Messrs Shree Naurang Godavari Entertainment, were convicted in the said case after they failed to repay a loan of Rs 5 crore to a Delhi-based businessman, MG Agarwal (owner of Murli Projects).
Yadav borrowed money from him back in 2010 to invest in his directorial debut film, Ata Pata Laapata, which failed miserably. In 2013, Yadav was even remanded to 10 days judicial custody for concealing facts about the case. The actor was later granted bail.
As per ANI, Rajpal has not only been sentenced to a six-month jail term, but he is also required to pay a fine of Rs 1.60 crore per case as there were a total of seven cases that were filed against the actor. This means that the total amount of fine to be paid by Rajpal would amount to about Rs 11.2 crore.
