An official adaptation of a South Korean film titled An Ode to My Father, Salman Khan’s Bharat now has its eyes fixed on Eid 2019.
It has Atul Agnihotri in the producer’s chair and will go on the floors from April 2018. It will be helmed by Tiger Zinda Hai director Ali Abbas Zafar.
Talking about the film, Agnihotri told Mumbai Mirror, “That film is just the starting point for ours but since it was an inspiration, we wanted in all fairness to officially own it and acquired the remake rights before going ahead with Bharat. It starts in 1947 and ends in 2000 and is the journey of a country and also a person, both of whom go by the name of Bharat.”
The actor-producer watched the film at the Busan International Film Festival and felt it could make for a great Bollywood film.
