Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu starrer Soorma, which started on a lower note on Friday, has managed to show decent growth at the box office.
In its opening weekend, the biographical sports drama raked in Rs 13.85 crore at the ticket windows. Due to the World Cup final match between France and Croatia, the growth on the film was not that significant.
It’ll be crucial for Soorma to hold well in the weekdays to stand with a respectable total in its opening week. The film is also facing stiff competition from Hollywood release Ant-Man and the Wasp and holdover release Sanju.
Soorma is directed by Shaad Ali, who previously helmed films like Saathiya, Bunty Aur Babli, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and others. The film is produced by Sony Pictures Networks India and The CS Films and also stars Angad Bedi, Kulbhushar Kharbanda and Vijay Raaz in pivotal roles
