Sridevi Gears up For Mr. India 2

Anil Kapoor and Sridevi are to re-unite on the big screen! Here's everything we know.

This might just be the most exciting piece of news you’ve come across today. Remember the mega blockbuster Mr. India, where Anil Kapoor and Sridevi created magic on-screen almost 30 years ago?

Following Sridevi’s amazing performance in English Vinglish, reports started doing the rounds that there might be a sequel to Mr. Indian in the planning. However, the grapevine soon stopped buzzing as there was no further news from the filmmakers.

Much to everyone’s surprise, news has now surfaced that Mr. India 2 is indeed in the making, with Anil Kapoor and Sridevi re-creating magic on-screen yet again. According to a report on Deccan Chronicle, Sridevi will start shooting for the film, soon after the release of Mom. A source revealed: “The idea is to take the story forward, but not just for the heck of it. We wanted a solid plot, and we have got it.”

If rumours are to be believed, Shekhar Kapoor, the original director of Mr. India, isn’t going to be part of the sequel, for reasons unknown. The team are reportedly in search for a replacement and are currently in talks with Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra and Mom director, Ravi Udyawar to helm the project.

The report on DC also suggests that the makers are looking for a young new pair as well, to star alongside Anil and Sridevi. We wonder who’ll be good enough to carry the Mr. India legacy forward! Could it be Harshvardhan?! We can’t wait to find out!
