At least 11 people were killed when a building collapsed in Mumbai.
24 other people were rescued from the rubble of the six-storey property in the densely populated Bhendi Bazaar area this morning, 31 August.
Local reports say the building was over 100 years old.
This is the third building collapse in Mumbai in less than a month. Police suspect that torrential monsoon rain weakened the structure of the building.
Questions have been raised over the lack of adequate housing in the city, with people having no choice but to live in sub-standard accommodation due to house price and rent increases.
