12 people drowned whilst visiting a beach in Karachi.
Local sources say two families, including teenagers, died at Hawksbay Beach after they were swept away by strong waves.
It is believed the families were visiting the coast for a picnic, despite a ban on swimming in the area due to the monsoon season.
One official claimed that 33 people have drowned on the city's beaches in the past month.
