Attacked doctor humiliated

A doctor is more humiliated than scared to go back to work after he was slapped on Saturday in front of a ward full of patients.

Dr Rohit Kumar was single-handedly taking care of more than 45 patients when a relative of a patient assaulted him.

The 28-year-old told police officers "In those 24 hours, we cared for her more than her family, who took her home against medical advice a few weeks ago," he added: "They sneaked into the ward and assaulted me despite being fully aware of her critical condition."

Local police officers have confirmed that investigations are on-going.
