Bangladesh PM caves in to student protesters

Bangladesh’s Prime Minister has met demands of student protesters, who took to the streets across the country.

The students have been fighting against a controversial quota system that sets aside government jobs for special groups.

More than 100 students were injured in Dhaka alone during the heated protests over the past few days.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the quote system will be scrapped, whilst the government will attempt to make a special arrangement for ethnic minorities and physically challenged people in the public service recruitment system.
