Political BJP party leader Juhi Chowdhury, was arrested on Tuesday the 28th February by local police of Batasia which is an area, close to the India-Nepal border in Darjeeling.
Chowdhury has been accused of being involved in a human trafficking ring based out of Bengal. She was denied her application for bail and ordered to remain in CID custody.
CID’s additional director general Rajesh Kumar, said “we have obtained significant evidence which indicates Juhi Chowdhury was involved in the trafficking of new born children. During the interrogation she mentioned the names of some influential political personalities which we cannot reveal right now while the investigation is on-going.”
