Six members of a family from the Malad suburb of Mumbai have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 12 year old boy.
On 7th of January the body of Randhir Sahani was found stuffed in a suitcase at the Lokmanya Train station in Mumbai.
The boy worked at a bangle-making unit run by the family accused of murdering him. On Monday, police officials confirmed the case had been solved. It was the brand of the suit case, in which the body was found, that helped solve the case, and an anonymous phone call which gave the police a tip about the people who had bought the suitcase.
After suffocating Randhir and stuffing his body in the suitcase, five of the suspects took a taxi to the station, hoping to abandon the body.
Senior police inspector Vijay Khair of Mumbai Police said “it has taken over two months and support from the public but we are very close to solving this case and getting justice for this little boy. We will not give up until the guilty have been bought to justice!.”
