A man who was convicted of the rape and murder of six-year-old Zainab Ansari in Pakistan is appealing against the four death penalties handed to him.
Imran Ali, 24, was sentenced by an anti-terrorism court but has sent an appeal to the Lahore High Court, claiming he is not guilty.
The appeal also states the trail was “conducted in haste and legal requirements were not fulfilled”.
Ali faces further trials for at least seven other children who were attacked, five of which were murdered.
Zainab’s body was found on a rubbish heap in the city of Kasur in January, triggering protests across the country.
