A doctor and his wife have been arrested for allegedly selling newborn babies in India.
It is reported the doctor confessed to selling two newborns for 200,000 rupees each, in Kohlapur district in the western state of Maharashtra.
The crimes are believed to have taken place since December.
The case is being investigated further to see if any other parties were involved. One official from the Central Adoption Resources Authority says another doctor from Mumbai may also be implicated in the case.
