An Indian make-up artist, who helped a 32-year-old man impersonate a pensioner in order to gain passage to the United States of America, has been arrested.
The 32-year-old Jayesh Patel was caught by the Central Industrial Security Force on 9 September at Delhi airport as he attempted to pass through airport security and immigration services in a wheelchair.
Upon checking Patel’s passport, they found his documents were in the name of 80-year-old Amrik Singh.
The make-up artist who assisted Patel - who goes by the name of Billu Barber - was arrested after he revealed that a make-up artist in Patel Nagar district had helped him modify his appearance in order to conceal his real identity.
The make-up artist, whose real name is Shamsher Singh, was arrested on Sunday, with a search of his shop resulting in cosmetics and material used for dying hair being recovered.
